What You’ll Do (job functions)
- Create an amazing experience and exceptional value for customers.
- Collection of money for services rendered
- Diagnose problems and/or failures in a variety of plumbing and gas systems
- Repair and install various types of piping including iron, steel, copper and pvc
- Inspect equipment, structures or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects
- Operate powered equipment including hand tools, stationary machines and others
- Make decisions by analyzing information and evaluating results
- Maintain a high quality initiative while completing assigned duties
- Test for leaks in new and repaired systems with compressed air and/or water
- Lawfully drive a motor vehicle and maintain a current driver's license in order to commute to the various current or prospective job sites in the region
- Provide daily direction to assigned Apprentices on the job site and actively participates in training and development of yourself and Apprentices
- Maintain a positive attitude to drive and build positive morale.
- Work towards individualized goals to win as a team.
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required at all times
What you’ll need to succeed (skills)
- Competent, responsible, organized and team oriented
- Strong communication and average computer skills
- Excellent customer service interaction and a desire to fix the problem to satisfy the customers' needs
- Strong basic math skills
- Ability to follow instructions with minimal to no supervision
What we’ll need from you (Minimum Job requirements)
- Available for overtime upon occasion
- Ability to work independently and with others
- Great mechanical skills and willingness to learn new things
- Ability to verbally communicate with management, city officials, on-site customers and other employees
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation to get to the Valley Plumbing shop
- Ability to work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes competing deadlines
- Ability to read and interpret written materials, perform basic mathematical computations and use measuring tools
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a continuous basis and more than 50 lbs. occasionally
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Field experience in plumbing
